Part‑Time Math & Science Teacher/Tutor

About the Role

Oxford Learning Calgary Acadia is seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors to help students succeed in grades 9‑12 math and science. The role involves teaching up to three students simultaneously during after‑school and evening hours (4:00‑8:00 pm, and some Saturdays 10:00‑3:00 pm). All lessons are pre‑planned; teacher‑tutors receive full training in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements
  • Full‑time availability during the school year preferred; summer continuation desirable
  • In‑person role – must be able to commute to the Calgary location
  • Mandatory vulnerable sector screening
  • No relocation package provided
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience considered
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Strong knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 math and science curriculum, including Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology
Experience
  • Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at Grade 9‑12 level (or equivalent)
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide student understanding
  • Ability to multitask and support up to three students simultaneously
Responsibilities
  • Teach up to three students at once at different levels
  • Deliver instruction online and in‑person as required
  • Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Record post‑lesson notes
  • Complete daily student communication updates
  • Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times

Compensation

Hourly rate: $17 – $19 per hour.

Schedule
  • Evenings, Monday‑Friday
