The Department of Biological Sciences within the Faculty of Science invites applications for the Fall 2026 Term BIOL 205 Sessional Instructor, with a start date of Aug 1, 2026.
Course and DeliveryThe successful candidate will be responsible for instruction and associated duties for the 3-unit BIOL 205:
The Organization and Diversity of Life, offered in-person with no laboratories or tutorials. Delivery mode: in person. Teaching schedule:
Lectures MWF 09:00-09:50.
BIOL 205 provides a study of biological concepts and mechanisms for non-majors, illustrated by current examples of medical and environmental problems. The first part covers biochemistry and cell biology; the second part covers organismal biology, ecology, and evolution.
Fall 2026 Term DatesAug 24, 2026 to Dec 24, 2026.
QualificationsThe successful candidate requires a minimum of an MSc in one of the biological sciences, with a PhD preferred. They also require evidence of teaching effectiveness and previous teaching experience, preferably in this course.
