Part Time (0.5 FTE) Preschool Educational Assistant – West Meadow Elementary School
West Meadow Elementary School located in Claresholm, Alberta is seeking to employ the very best school-based staff in Alberta. This temporary EA position will be .5 preschool and will commence August 26, 2026, and will end on June 25, 2027.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of child development and the importance of play. The successful candidate will understand and follow Early Learning and Child Care Licensing Regulations.
Responsibilities- Support a play-based learning environment guided by Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework in the Learn-A-Lot Preschool to provide an inclusive environment.
- Work collaboratively with the Early Learning Coordinator and the school principal/designate.
- Help with daily routines and activities appropriate for preschool children, including supervision and basic care tasks as needed.
- Level 1 Early Childhood Educator or higher or willingness to complete funded certification
- Current Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search
- Current Intervention Record Check
- Knowledge of child development and experience working with children aged 3-5 years old
- Responsibilities may include toileting and/or diapering as part of daily care
- Provide a play-based learning environment guided by Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework
- Local knowledge and experience with culture and traditions
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents and staff
- Willingness to participate in professional learning activities and listen to suggestions/feedback from OLP, OT and PT and apply suggested strategies as needed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid First Aid certificate is an asset
