Join the University of Calgary as a sessional instructor teaching Spanish in Fall 2026, focusing on Beginners' Spanish I. Your expertise will shape students' language journey.
The School of Languages, Linguistics, Literatures and Cultures is looking for dedicated Spanish instructors for the Fall 2026 semester. This role is intended for candidates with a Ph.D. or doctoral candidacy, requiring command of both Spanish and English. Experience teaching at the university level is vital for delivering an effective educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct in-person classes for SPAN 201
• Deliver comprehensive language instruction and assessment
• Create an inclusive and motivating classroom atmosphere
• Collaborate with peers in course design
• Monitor student outcomes and provide support
Requirements:
• Ph.D. or candidacy completed by the term start
• Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English
• Experience in undergraduate teaching settings
• Submission of a current CV and other relevant documents
• Teaching evaluations encouraged but not essential
