The University of Calgary is seeking a Sessional Instructor for BIOL 305, starting August 1, 2026. This in-person course covers the foundations of human biology, examining systems within the body.
This position involves teaching the BIOL 305 course, 'The Human Organism,' within the Department of Biological Sciences. Candidates must have a minimum MSc in biological sciences, with a PhD preferred, alongside evidence of effective teaching and relevant experience. The course is intended for non-majors, focusing on human anatomy and physiology from a zoological and evolutionary perspective.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver lectures for BIOL 305 in the fall term
• Develop course materials and assessments
• Foster an engaging classroom environment
• Address student inquiries and provide support
• Maintain records of student progress and performance
Requirements:
• MSc in biological sciences (PhD preferred)
• Demonstrated teaching effectiveness
