Sessional Instructor: CMMB 421, Department of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science
The Department of Biological Sciences within the Faculty of Science invites applications for a Fall 2026 Term Sessional Instructor, with a start date of August 1, 2026.
The successful candidate will have responsibilities for the instruction and coordination of 8 lectures of this 3-unit course, along with other associated duties. This position will constitute a 0.25 HCE.
CMMB 421 – Virology
CMMB 421 encompasses a comprehensive overview of virus structure and replication; molecular events involved in virus infection and replication including genetics, biochemistry and molecular biology of bacterial, plant and animal viruses. Areas of persistent viruses, viral immunology, cancer and AIDS will also be covered.
Fall 2026 Term Dates: Monday, Aug 24, 2026 – Thursday, Dec 24, 2026.
Delivery Mode: In-person.

Mon/Wed/Fri 10:00 – 10:50 AM
Qualifications
Candidates require a minimum of an MSc in one of the biological sciences, with a PhD preferred.
Candidates require expertise in the field of virology.
Evidence of teaching effectiveness and previous teaching experience, preferably in this course or in a similar course, is also required.
