About the Role

The Specialized Program Coordinator (IEMBP) is responsible for the coordination, administration, and content delivery of the Internationally Educated Midwives Bridging Program (IEMBP). This position supports internationally educated midwives in navigating program requirements, assessment processes, and pathways toward professional practice readiness in Alberta.

The Specialized Program Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between the program and key external and internal collaborators, including the College of Midwives, Faculty of Health and Community Education (HCE), subject matter experts (SMEs), instructors, and clinical/community partners. The role provides leadership in program intake and advising processes, assessment coordination, instructional support, and learner success initiatives while ensuring alignment with regulatory, academic, and professional standards.

Due to the specialized nature of the program and the need for professional expertise in midwifery practice, the incumbent must be a registered midwife with current or eligibility for registration/licensure in Canada.

This position is apart‑time conditionally funded term position working 25 hours per week and is anticipated to end September 30, 2028.

  • Collaborate with faculty and program leadership to support program planning, implementation, continuous improvement, and regulatory alignment.

  • Support internationally educated midwives in understanding admission requirements, bridging pathways, and assessment expectations.
  • Coordinate Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) assessments and related logistics, including scheduling, evaluator coordination, simulation resources, and learner communication.
  • Monitor learner progression through intake, assessment, and bridging activities to ensure timely completion of requirements.
  • Maintain accurate learner records, assessment documentation, and program tracking systems in accordance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
