Shape young minds at Maria Montessori Education Centre as a part-time Computer Science Teacher for Upper Elementary and Erdkinder. Engage students with Alberta’s curriculum in coding and computational thinking.

MMEC is seeking a certificated Computer Science Teacher to lead classes for Grades 4-9, starting in September 2026. This part-time role involves planning and instructing lessons that align with Alberta’s curriculum within a Montessori framework. The position is approximately one afternoon per week, with associated planning time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and assess Computer Science programs for Upper Elementary and Erdkinder

• Instruct students in coding and computational thinking concepts

• Deliver cohesive lessons across shared class timings

• Utilize design processes and abstraction techniques in teaching

• Collaborate with educators to enhance student understanding

Requirements:

• Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate is required

• Strong interest or background in Computer Science

• Familiarity with Alberta’s Programs of Study

• Montessori experience is an asset

• Current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
