Technical Theatre Teacher Academy

Shape the future of performing arts at Foundations for the Future Charter Academy in Calgary as a Technical Theatre Teacher for Grades 9-12. Inspire students through hands-on experience in set design and production management.

This interim part-time position permits you to mentor around 30 students in practical aspects of theatrical production. You will instruct on set construction, oversee prop creation, and ensure safe production practices. The role emphasizes nurturing a collaborative and positive classroom atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver technical theatre lessons for Grades 9-12

• Guide students in set design and backstage operations

• Oversee sourcing and creation of props and costumes

• Support safe production practices in the classroom

• Foster a positive learning environment for students

Requirements:

• Valid Alberta Education certification required

• Current police check and first aid qualifications

• Background in technical theatre or production

• Strong communication and project management skills

• Flexibility in scheduling, including non-traditional hours
