Position: Natural Sciences Sessional Instructor 2026
Become a Sessional Instructor for the Natural Sciences Program at the University of Calgary teaching SCIE 501 starting in August 2026. Engage students through in-person instruction and assessments throughout the Fall semester.

This term appointment involves delivering lectures for a 3-unit course while collaborating with fellow instructors to facilitate a successful curriculum. You'll be responsible for grading, providing thoughtful feedback to students, and ensuring course components align with best practices. Strong communication skills and a commitment to inclusivity in teaching are vital for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging lecture instruction during the term

• Collaborate with the teaching team for effective course delivery

• Grade student assessments and provide constructive feedback

• Perform assigned duties related to course management

• Foster an inclusive learning environment for all students

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in a scientific discipline preferred

• Previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level

• Proficiency in Desire 2 Learn (D2L) system

• Knowledge of assessment best practices

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
