Teach CPSC 383 on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at the University of Calgary this Fall 2026. This in-person session will emphasize instruction and the supervision of teaching assistants.
The Department of Computer Science is seeking a Sessional Instructor for CPSC 383, which explores AI and ML tools. This 3-unit course, held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 12:00 to 13:50, requires a strong educational background. Preference is given to graduate students and postdocs in Computer Science aiming to gain teaching experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Instruct students in AI and ML fundamentals
• Supervise tutorial sections led by teaching assistants
• Develop course materials using popular APIs
• Manage in-person class schedule and activities
• Ensure student engagement and understanding of course content
Requirements:
• Minimum MSc in Computer Science or related field
• PhD preferred for candidates
• Experience teaching or tutoring is an asset
• Familiarity with AI and ML tools
• Commitment to an equitable and inclusive learning environment
