Part-Time Economics Instructors

Position: Part-Time Economics Instructors Needed
The Department of Economics at the University of Calgary seeks part-time Sessional Instructors to teach Microeconomic Theory during Fall 2026. Candidates must have a PhD or an MA in Economics.

Instructors are required for two specific courses: ECON
657 and ECON
557, both in person. Successful applicants will facilitate discussions, grade assignments, and hold office hours, contributing to a rigorous academic environment in economics. Previous teaching experience at the undergraduate level is a must, ensuring effective student engagement and learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach courses ECON
657 and ECON
557 during Fall 2026

• Facilitate student discussions and promote analytical thinking

• Grade student assignments and provide constructive feedback

• Hold office hours to support student inquiries

• Complete additional duties as assigned by the department

Requirements:

• PhD in Economics or MA considered for strong candidates

• Previous experience teaching university-level courses

• Ability to engage students in economic theory

• Strong organizational and communication skills
