Exciting opportunity to teach BIOL 205 at the University of Calgary. The position starts August 2026 and focuses on the organization and diversity of life through in-person lectures.
The Faculty of Science is accepting applications for a Sessional Instructor in BIOL 205 for the Fall 2026 term. Candidates must possess at least an MSc in biological sciences, while a PhD is preferable. Successful applicants will demonstrate teaching effectiveness and should ideally have experience teaching this specific course to non-majors.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead lectures MWF from 09:00-09:50
• Explore fundamental biological concepts and issues
• Develop course outlines and lecture slides
• Provide timely feedback on assessments
• Ensure accessibility in teaching methods
Requirements:
• MSc in biological sciences required (PhD preferred)
• Proven track record of effective teaching
• Previous experience in BIOL 205 is an asset
• Strong commitment to diversity and inclusion
