The Natural Sciences Program within the Faculty of Science invites applications for a Fall 2026 Term Sessional Instructor.
The appointee will teach SCIE 398 in the Fall 2026 term, with a start date of August 1, 2026. This position will constitute one full HCE. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and running the course.
Science 398 - Indigenous ScienceThe selected instructor will guide students through an exploration of the depth of science with Indigenous ways of knowing and stories. This course aims to provide a holistic understanding of science through an Indigenous lens.
Responsibilities- Develop and deliver course content.
- Provide opportunities to learn alongside local Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and Indigenous Scientists.
- Design and conduct engaging lectures, interactive discussions, and practical sessions that cover a wide range of neuroscientific topics.
- Foster a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide feedback and support to students, assisting them in their development.
Fall 2026 Term Dates:
Monday, Aug 24, 2026, to Thursday, Dec 24, 2026.
Delivery Mode:
All course components will be delivered in person.

- Applicants should have a minimum of a Master's degree, with Ph.D. preferred, in science, education, or a related field.
- Evidence of previous teaching experience and effectiveness at the post-secondary level is a strong asset, preferably in the course subject area.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for engaging and inspiring students.
- Experience with the Desire 2 Learn (D2L) course management system, knowledge of best practices for assessments, and techniques for engaging students will be considered assets.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive educational environment that values diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
