Become a Sessional Instructor for BIOL 305 at the University of Calgary, commencing August 1, 2026. Teach this in-person course that explores human biology and its systems.
The Department of Biological Sciences is inviting applications for a Sessional Instructor for the Fall Term 2026. Successful candidates will hold at least an MSc in biological sciences, with a preference for a PhD and proven teaching experience. The course, designed for non-majors, offers insights into the anatomy and physiology of the human organism in a broader zoological context.
Key Responsibilities:
• Instruct all aspects of BIOL 305 course
• Create and deliver engaging lectures
• Facilitate student understanding of biological concepts
• Provide academic support and feedback
• Ensure accurate grading and record-keeping
Requirements:
• MSc in biological sciences, PhD preferred
• Evidence of effective teaching strategies
• Previous experience with similar courses preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to engage a diverse student body
