The University of Calgary is hiring a Sessional Instructor for BIOL 305, starting August 1, 2026. This role focuses on in-person instruction of human biology for non-majors.
In this role, the successful candidate will oversee the instruction of BIOL 305, 'The Human Organism,' offered by the Department of Biological Sciences. Required qualifications include at least an MSc in biological sciences, ideally a PhD, along with demonstrated teaching effectiveness. The course emphasizes the structural and functional aspects of human biology and how it fits within the broader biological framework.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach all aspects of the BIOL 305 course
• Prepare lectures and instructional materials
• Engage students through interactive learning
• Answer questions and guide academic progress
• Track and document student performance
Requirements:
• MSc in biological sciences (PhD favored)
• Proven record of teaching effectiveness
