Position: Natural Sciences Sessional Instructor Needed
Join the University of Calgary as a Sessional Instructor for Fall 2026. Engage students in SCIE 501, the Natural Sciences capstone course, emphasizing ethical research and effective communication.

You will be responsible for teaching the SCIE 501 course, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among Natural Sciences students. The role includes leading lectures, scoring assessments, and promoting effective communication strategies in scientific contexts. A strong focus will be placed on guiding students to conduct responsible research.

Key Responsibilities:

• Instruct students in science communication methods

• Evaluate student projects and provide constructive feedback

• Collaborate with the teaching team for course enhancement

• Guide students in ethical research practices

• Foster teamwork and peer feedback among students

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field preferred

• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

• Prior experience in post-secondary teaching is beneficial

• Knowledge of D2L course-management is an asset

• Experience in engaging students effectively
