Position: Fall 2026 Sessional Instructor in Science
Become a Sessional Instructor for SCIE 311 at the University of Calgary in Fall 2026, teaching Writing and Reviewing Scientific Reports. Engage students through in-person lectures and hands-on activities.

The Natural Sciences Program invites applications for a Sessional Instructor position in Science 311. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in a related scientific field or have experience in teaching scientific writing. This role will emphasize developing students' skills in writing by guiding them through scientific literature and providing personalized feedback during workshops.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead one lecture section of SCIE 311 in Fall 2026

• Design course content focusing on scientific writing skills

• Facilitate active-learning lectures to engage students

• Offer feedback to students on their writing assignments

• Support an inclusive learning environment for all students

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in a scientific discipline or teaching experience

• Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral

• Familiarity with scientific writing standards

• Commitment to inclusive teaching practices
