Overview
The Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach Fall 2026 OPMA 601 LEC 02 (Operations Management). Classes run September 1 to December 4, 2026. Registrar Scheduled Exams may take place December 8–18, 2026.
Course DetailsOPMA 601 (Operations Management) LEC 02 – Wednesday 6:30 pm to 9:15 pm.
Course DescriptionManagement of the production and/or service delivery system of the organization in concert with marketing, human resources, finance, and information systems. Management decision making on a continuum from day‑to‑day operating decisions such as quality control to long‑term strategic decisions such as capacity planning. Topics covered may include operations strategy, project management, and inventory and supply chain management.
Qualifications- Graduate degree (MBA, MSc, DBA or PhD) or work experience in a relevant field is required.
- Recent successful delivery of a course teaching the fundamentals of Operations Management as instructor at a post‑secondary institution (within the last two years) that includes evidence of curriculum development with case‑based or experiential learning approaches is required.
- Demonstrate the ability to analyze complex operational workflows, and to translate them into accessible and applied learning.
- Demonstrate the ability to foster student engagement at the undergraduate level.
- Located in or near Calgary for the in‑person delivery of the course is required.
