Overview
The Haskayne School of Business is currently seeking a Full-time Limited Term Program Specialist for approximately 24 months.
The Program Specialist is a member of the Executive & Professional Development (EPD) team at the Haskayne School of Business (HSB). The Program Specialist reports to the Manager, Marketing & Operations and collaborates with team members, faculty, staff, students and other community members as required to build a healthy culture and advance HSB's Strategic Plan priorities and objectives.
This role is part of a high‑impact team shaping how leaders and organizations across Canada develop talent, capability, and strategic insight. It offers visibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to directly influence growth for one of Canada's leading business schools.
This position requires high-level discretionary decision-making, the ability to communicate professionally with multiple stakeholders, and to work independently. Stressors include dealing with competing deadlines and managing multiple project implementations simultaneously.
Due to operational requirements, the position works predominantly on campus. There will be a frequent need to attend offsite meetings and events, and occasional travel outside Calgary. Primary working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (35 hours per week); some flexibility is essential, including early morning, evening and weekend work.
This position is part of the AUPE Collective Bargaining Unit.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Leadership, Delivery, and Operational Excellence
- Overall operational leadership, coordination, execution, and evaluation of Executive and Professional Development open‑enrolment, custom, and partnership programs, ensuring a high-quality participant experience, exceptional customer service, and adherence to established standards.
- Day‑to‑day direction to team members involved in program delivery, ensuring programs are delivered to a high standard.
- Lead the operational delivery of assigned executive and professional development programs from planning through completion with limited supervision.
- Translate program designs into effective operational plans and seamless learning experiences.
- Collaborate with the Director, Managers, and program design and delivery teams to ensure contractual obligations, program objectives, and participant expectations are met.
- Coordinate onboarding, training, coaching, and guidance for new and existing team members on operational processes, systems, policies, and procedures.
- Delegate work to Student Program Assistants and other internal or external service providers and oversee successful completion of assigned responsibilities.
- Set priorities, manage competing deadlines, and ensure deliverables are completed on time.
- Coordinate classroom, online, and hybrid learning environments.
- Resolve operational issues, participant concerns, and stakeholder disputes within scope of authority.
Stakeholder, Participant, and Client Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships while serving as a champion for Executive and Professional Development and the Haskayne School of Business.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for participants regarding program operations, logistics, and related inquiries.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with corporate clients, partner institutions, faculty members, facilitators, and service providers.
- Ensure operational commitments outlined in service agreements are fulfilled.
- Ensure faculty members and instructors have access to the resources, technology, facilities, and support required for successful program delivery.
- Collaborate with faculty, Academic Directors, and program leaders to ensure learning experiences align with program objectives and participant expectations.
- Collaborate with marketing and recruitment teams to support the promotion of executive education programs and participant engagement initiatives.
Program Administration, Evaluation, and Financial Management
- Oversee program administration, operational logistics, evaluation activities, and program financial processes to ensure effective and efficient program delivery.
