Manager of Education Zoo

Lead community engagement and wildlife conservation education with the Wilder Institute's Calgary Zoo as a full-time Manager, Experiential and Outreach Education. Drive ecological literacy through dynamic youth and corporate programming.

This permanent position requires a skilled manager to oversee educational programming and staff at the Calgary Zoo. You will create, deliver, and evaluate programs while collaborating on fundraising proposals and maintaining partnerships. Key responsibilities include mentoring staff, supporting program strategy, and managing community relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee education coordinators in program design and delivery

• Mentor and manage education staff and seasonal teams

• Develop outcomes-based, nonformal education programs

• Cultivate partnerships for outreach initiatives

• Track program budgets and internal reporting

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields

• 5-7 years of experience in education management

• Proficiency in budget planning and community outreach

• Strong communication skills and innovative thinking

• Valid driver's license and first aid certification
