Auxiliary Finance & Investment Mangement Instructor (Summer 2026)
Circuit Stream is a leader in future technology skills training and learning content. We offer world-class educational services for teen and adult learners with a focus on the skills needed to leverage immersive and emerging technology. In the course, students will explore the basics of finance and investment and the psychology of money. They will learn what finance really means, the different ways you to invest money, and how the stock market works.
They will also learn the main financial investment strategies that help balance risk and rewards to create a winning portfolio.
We are seeking passionate investment professionals, with a deep understanding of financial investment strategies used to create a strong portfolio, to join our instructor roster for Finance and Investment Management
courses for learners aged 13-18.
This is an auxiliary (substitute) instructor opportunity for Summer 2026. As part of our instructor roster, you'll be one of our trusted educators who can step in when needed to support our students.
If our lead instructor is unavailable due to planned or unexpected leave, you'll confidently deliver our curriculum and ensure students continue to receive the exceptional learning experience Circuit Stream is known for.
Finance and Investment Management is offered at 1 Calgary University and 1 Private School this summer. We are ideally looking for someone who can teach all 3 of these cohorts and who is comfortable with north Calgary and south Calgary locations.
- Our 2-week version of this course will be offered 2 times at University of Calgary campus
in Mathison Hall in north Calgary. Instructors hired to teach this course must be available from 9:00am-3:30pm MT from June 29-July 10 and July 27-August 7 (plus 1 week in June for training). - Our 1-week version of this course will be offered 1 time in partnership with Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School at their campus south of Calgary, near Okotoks. Instructors hired to teach this course must be available from 9:00am-3:30pm MT from August 10-14.
Candidates selected for interviews will be contacted starting in February 2026.
Responsibilities
- Create lesson plans and lead engaging and comprehensive classroom sessions with teen learners following Circuit Stream's Finance & Investment Management course curriculum (curriculum and Instructor guides provided)
- Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to students as they ideate, develop, and iterate on their final project, a simulated investment portfolio
- Showcase proficiency in in making investment decisions based on market data
- Share real-world experiences, case studies, and insights to offer students a holistic understanding of the field.
- Grade assessments that accurately measure student understanding and progress within the course.
Requirements
- Availability to teach during the day (9:00 AM - 3:30 PM) between July and August 2026, if called upon.
- Availability to attend 1–2 training days in July prior to teaching.
- Previous professional experience in finance and investment roles.
- Alumni with a Bachelor's Degree in business with finance specialty OR Masters students currently pursuing Masters Degree in Finance or MBA.
- Proficiency in stock market analysis, analyzing company financial statements and building stock portfolios.
- Comfortable using Google Finance for research and analysis.
- Understanding of investment strategies and good practices like value investing, growth investing, momentum investing, and diversification.
- Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
- Innate logical thinking and the ability to inspire and nurture logical thinking in students.
- A passion for guiding and mentoring students, fostering their growth, and providing meaningful feedback.
- Willingness to adapt to evolving curriculum needs, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
