The Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach Fall 2026 OPMA 419 LEC 01 (Predictive Model Business Analytics). Classes in the Fall 2026 semester run from September 1 to December 4, 2026. Registrar Scheduled Exams will take place between December 8 to December 18, 2026, if applicable.
Course DescriptionPrediction and classification models with machine learning to identify patterns and the likelihood of future outcomes. Techniques may include visualization, cluster analysis, regression‑based models, classification trees and neural networks.
ScheduleLEC 01 – Tuesday / Thursday 11:00 am to 12:15 pm.
Qualifications- Graduate degree (MBA, MSc, DBA or PhD) or relevant work experience is required.
- Previous post‑secondary teaching experience of a quantitative course is preferred.
- Affinity to teach advanced predictive techniques and statistics with the use of Siemens AI Studio (part of the Rapid Miner portfolio), R and/or Python is required.
- Demonstrate the ability to foster student engagement at the undergraduate level.
- Located in or near Calgary for the in‑person delivery of the course is required.
- A current CV containing a discussion of relevant teaching and professional experience.
- Previous teaching evaluations, if applicable.
- Names of three references.
- Any additional information that you may have to strengthen your application and assist in the selection process.
