Position:
Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator for LING 2P51 Applied Phonetics (Winter D3). Post End Date:
July 19, 2026.
- Deliver scheduled contact time with students, including seminars and lab demonstrations.
- Prepare seminar material, conduct student consultations, and hold office hours.
- Mark or grade assignments, administer examinations, and proctor exams.
- Attend lectures and perform other course administration as required.
- Compensated hours may include additional duties as per union agreement.
- Undergraduate rate: $23.30 per hour (effective September 1, 2026).
- Graduate rate: $36.67 per hour (effective September 1, 2026).
- Additional duties are paid at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.
- Minimum four‑year BA completed, or admission to a fourth year with an 85% major average.
- Must have taken LING2P51 (or equivalent) and received an 85% (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills that support students’ course‑related needs and promote good communication.
- Strong organizational skills and capacity to keep accurate records and manage data, including practical use of Excel.
- Recruitment complies with collective agreement rules; part‑time graduate students cannot exceed maximum regular hours.
