Overview
The Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach Fall 2026 BTMA 459 LEC 01 (Decision Support Application Development using VBA Programming). Classes in the Fall 2026 semester run from September 1 to December 4, 2026. Registrar‑scheduled exams will take place between December 8 and December 18, 2026, if applicable.
Course Details- BTMA 459 – Decision Support Application Development using VBA Programming
- LEC 01 – Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30am to 10:45am
Students will work with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to create decision‑support systems and other applications across the Microsoft Office Suite. They will also learn how to use VBA skills to produce business applications. The focus of the course will be the creation of applications that allow managers to make meaningful decisions using available data such as financial and other industry data from both internal and external sources.
ResponsibilitiesTeach the BTMA 459 course, including delivering lectures on Tuesdays and Thursdays, preparing instructional materials, and assessing student performance.
Qualifications- Received an MBA and has work experience related to technology, received a PhD or PhD ABD in Business Technology Management, or is pursuing a PhD in Business Technology Management.
- Has prior post‑secondary teaching experience.
- Proven experience with VBA is required.
- A current CV containing a discussion of relevant teaching and professional experience.
- Previous teaching evaluations for post‑secondary courses.
- Names of three references.
