Course Overview
ENCI 606 Building Engineering – An overview of building engineering covering design development, construction document development, and management. Includes understanding of design phases, building systems (mechanical, electrical, envelope, structural), National Building Code, National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings, post‑construction documentation, and acceptance certifications.
Teaching ResponsibilitiesConduct lecture sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:30–13:45, in Fall 2026 (August 24–December 24, 2026). Prepare and deliver course content, develop assignments, facilitate discussion, and assess student performance. Maintain academic integrity and contribute to the department’s teaching mission.
Qualifications- Master’s degree in engineering.
- Demonstrated background in building engineering or related discipline.
- Strong teaching performance or potential for very good to excellent teaching ability.
- Strong commitment to engineering education.
- Professional engineering licensure with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) or equivalent in another Canadian province.
Priority will be given to Canadian citizens or permanent residents. Applications from graduate students require permission from a graduate supervisor.
