Overview

The School of Languages, Linguistics, Literatures and Cultures invites applications for French sessional instructors to teach the following courses in Fall 2026 (Aug 24, 2026 – Dec 24, 2026).

Courses of Instruction
  • FREN 213 (LEC 01) – Intermediate French: MWF 10:00‑10:50 (In person)
  • FREN 227 (LEC 01) – La Grammaire par les textes II: MF 11:00‑12:15 (In person)
  • FREN 329 (LEC 01) – Expression ecrite et orale: MF 14:00‑15:15 (In person)
Position Requirements
  • PhD in French preferred
  • Native or near‑native fluency in French and English
  • Experience teaching undergraduate courses at university level
Salary

Salary information is available in the Faculty of Arts Collective Agreement, Schedule

Application Process

All applicants must submit a letter specifying course(s) and session(s) of interest, outlining qualifications. Candidates who have taught in the Department within the past two years need not submit additional information.

New applicants must provide:

  • A current CV with relevant teaching experience
  • Names and contact information for three potential referees
  • Teaching evaluations (if available)

Doctoral candidates must have completed candidacy exams before the term and include a letter of support from their supervisor.
