Sessional Instructor: ENEE - Introduction to Energy Environment

Description

The Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering in the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach ENEE 355 - Introduction to Energy and the Environment in the Fall 2026 term. The course is scheduled to be delivered in-person.

History of energy technologies, energetics of natural systems and agriculture, formation, extraction, and transformations of fossil fuels, renewables such as biomass, solar and wind; and the electricity system, environmental impacts of energy systems, technical options for transforming energy systems to reduce environmental impacts.

Lectures:
Monday/Wednesday/Friday 1:00 - 1:50 PM

Tutorial:
Friday 3:00 - 4:50 PM

• Teach ENEE 355 in-person to undergraduate engineering students.
• Prepare and deliver lecture and tutorial sessions.
• Maintain course materials and manage student assessment.
• Participate in departmental meetings and teaching workshops as required.

• Graduate degree in Engineering.
• Active P.Eng. designation viewed as an asset.
• Demonstrated background in subject matter related to the course.
• Experience teaching undergraduate students in an engineering program viewed as an asset.
• Comfortable teaching in person.
