Become an instructor for DATA 221 at the Department of Computer Science for the Fall 2026 Term. Teach in person and guide teaching assistants through this vital data science course.
The Faculty of Science is looking for a Sessional Instructor for the Fall 2026 Term at the Department of Computer Science. Candidates must have at least an MSc in Computer Science or a related field, with preference for PhD holders. In this role, you will teach an Introduction to Data Science, focusing on programming tools and ethical considerations of data use.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver interactive lectures for Data Science 221
• Supervise teaching assistants in tutorial sections
• Mentor students in ethical data practices
• Grade student assignments and provide feedback
• Prepare course materials and assessments
Requirements:
• Minimum MSc in Computer Science
• Strong teaching philosophy statement
• Documented teaching experience with reflective practices
• Three letters of reference
• Application to be submitted by July 27, 2026
