Brief Description
The SSC Facilitator plays a key role in supporting student success by assisting students in overcoming academic, personal, and campus‑related challenges. As the first point of contact for students seeking support services, this position provides essential guidance on academic advising, accessibility services, mental health support, and financial aid. This role is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive campus environment, advocating for student needs, and contributing to students’ overall well‑being and academic success.
Key Responsibilities- Assist students in navigating challenges related to academics, personal well‑being, and campus life.
- Act as the first point of contact for students seeking support services.
- Provide basic information on academic advising, accessibility services, mental health support, and financial aid.
- Liaise between students and internal departments (e.g., Academic Affairs, Financial Aid, Mental Health Services, Accessibility Services).
- Assist with referrals to internal and external resources.
- Provide guidance on college policies, procedures, and available student resources.
- Ensure students are connected with the appropriate advisors, counselors, and specialists for their specific needs.
- Maintain records of student interactions and follow up on outstanding issues.
- Promote student involvement in college activities, leadership programs, and support groups.
- Collaborate with student organizations to foster an inclusive and supportive campus culture.
- Identify students in distress and provide immediate support and referrals to mental health or crisis intervention services.
- Assist in resolving student concerns, complaints, or disputes, working with the appropriate college departments when necessary.
- Manage student service inquiries via email, phone, and in‑person appointments.
- Maintain accurate student records and reports in compliance with college policies and privacy regulations.
- Develop and distribute informational materials on student services, campus policies, and wellness resources.
- Diploma or certificate in Office Administration from a recognized institution.
- At least two years of experience in an administrative role.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Fluency in an additional language is considered an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong grammar and spelling.
- Knowledge of office administration procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities concurrently.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong organization and planning skills.
