Jr. High Art Teacher - Grades 6 to 9 - Term Contract

Glenmore Christian Academy (GCA) is a private Alberta accredited Christian school located in the Southwest of Calgary, Alberta, specializing in the education of children in Grades JK-9. GCA is a member of AISCA (Association of Independent Schools and Colleges in Alberta) as well as ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International). GCA has a head of school, two principals, 3 vice principals and a staff of over 125 serving approximately 1000 students.

GCA has an opportunity for a 0.9 FTE Jr. High Art Teacher - Grades 6 to 9. Under the direction and mentorship of the Jr. High Principal, this individual will teach art for grades 6 to 9, teaching other courses such as Social Studies and provide extra curricular support where required. This position is a term contract from August 26, 2026, to April 30, 2027, with the possibility of continuing through to the end of the school year.

• Bachelor of Education
• AB Permanent or Interim Certificate

• Background in art education and experience with creative visual arts
• Teach students using lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations, digital delivery and field trips
• Design effective strategies to meet the children’s diverse learning needs
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Fluent in English
• Excellent English written and oral communication skills
• Proven attention to detail, organizational and documenting / tracking skills, as well as analytical problem-solving abilities
