Sessional Instructor

The Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering in the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to co-teach ENCH 550 (Chemical Engineering Design II) in the Winter 2027 term. The course is scheduled to be delivered in-person.

A continuation of the Chemical Engineering 500 capstone design project, where student teams build on their design work done in Part I. Focus may include detailed design, prototyping, pilot scale demonstration, hazard analysis, identification and mitigation of design inefficiencies and risks, process operability, and energy optimization.

Candidates must have a graduate degree in Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline, and must have a demonstrated background in the subject matter related to these courses. Experience teaching process design to undergraduate and/or graduate students in a chemical engineering program will be viewed as an asset. Applicants should have substantial industry experience involving process engineering, and hold an active P.Eng.

designation through APEGA, or other provincial or territorial engineering regulator in Canada.
