The Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering in the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to co‑teach ENCH 500 (Chemical Engineering Design I) in the Fall 2026 term. The course is scheduled to be delivered in‑person.
ENCH 500 CourseDescription:
Team design project in which students integrate creative and critical thinking skills with the knowledge and experience gained from earlier courses to solve open‑ended design problems while refining their skills in teamwork and project management. Preparation of a feasibility study of a chemical process or product including supply and demand forecasts, estimation of capital and operating costs, process drawings and recommendation as to the viability of the project.

Candidates must have a graduate degree in Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline, and must have a demonstrated background in the subject matter related to these courses. Experience teaching process design to undergraduate and/or graduate students in a chemical engineering program will be viewed as an asset. Applicants should have substantial industry experience involving process engineering, and hold an active P.Eng.
designation through APEGA, or other provincial or territorial engineering regulator in Canada.
