Lead Tutor for Homework Helpers

Empower youth through tutoring as a Lead Tutor for YMCA Calgary. This part-time role involves after-school sessions, volunteer recruitment, and maintaining positive community relationships.

YMCA Calgary is seeking a Lead Tutor to join their Homework Helpers program at multiple locations. This part-time position offers an opportunity to impact student learning while supporting volunteers and developing educational programs aligned with the Alberta Junior High curriculum. Ideal candidates should possess experience in mathematics or science, a strong background in tutoring, and a passion for working with youth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Recruit and screen student participants for programs

• Deliver weekly after-school tutoring sessions

• Maintain communication with students, parents, and volunteers

• Procure supplies and snacks for tutoring sessions

• Complete administrative tasks and manage program impact reports

Requirements:

• High School diploma, with preference for post-secondary studies

• Previous tutoring and leadership experience

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search

• Current First Aid and CPR certification
