The Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary invites applications for term certain Sessional Instructor positions for the Winter 2027 term in Educational Research and Educational Psychology. Sessional instructors will teach online and on campus graduate courses that are integral parts of the graduate programs in the Werklund School of Education.

Graduate Programs in Education (GPE) has over 1000 graduate students registered in seven (7) specializations. GPE is proud of the high-quality graduate programs delivered in both online and on campus formats. Its programs are characterized by a strong learner focus, flexibility, technological innovation, and responsiveness to community desire for accreditation, certification, lifelong learning, and rigorous scholarship.

EDER 630 Indigenous Research Methods in Education
Delivery:
On campus

An exploration of Indigenous research methods and related issues of design, and ethical considerations in conducting research. Our explorations in this course will be guided by four key questions. Who am I? Where do I come from? Where am I going, or what is my purpose? What are my responsibilities? These questions inform why and how we turn to Indigenous research methods.

Position Requirements

Educational Research consists of Educational Studies in Adult Learning, Curriculum and Learning, Language and Literacy, Leadership, and the Learning Sciences.

Desired qualifications include

  • A completed doctorate in education or a related area.
  • Evidence of successful teaching and leadership experience in school, university, or workplace settings.
  • Demonstrated experience in online/distance education.
  • Capacity to work effectively in a collaborative culture.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the graduate programs and specializations in Educational Research are considered assets for the sessional teaching positions.
