The Learning Assistant position at MRU focuses on aiding first and second-year students with challenging course content. Engaging 3 to 6 hours each week, you will work closely with learners in courses such as CHEM 1202 and PHYS 1201. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills and a strong academic background to effectively assist students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Tutor students in their understanding of chemistry and physics concepts
• Collaborate with faculty to pinpoint student challenges
• Maintain strict confidentiality of student data
• Record detailed information on student sessions and support
• Participate in ongoing training and prep related topics
Requirements:
• Must be a third- or fourth-year student at MRU
• Achieved a B grade or higher in relevant subjects
• Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities
• Knowledge of obstacles faced by first-year students
• Previous tutoring experience is beneficial
