Location: Canmore

Mountain Munchkin Daycare in Canmore, AB, is seeking a Level 1 Early Years Educator.

Terms of Employment

Wage: $23.00 – $26.00/h – depending on experience

Position:
Full-time, Permanent.

Vacation: 2 weeks

Work Hours:

40 hours per week – 8-hour shift Monday to Friday

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Level 1 Early Educator to join our team. This role involves spending part of the time directly in the classroom (Ages 4-5) and part of the time supporting other rooms (1-3 years). The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about early childhood education and committed to fostering a positive and nurturing environment for our children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum to stimulate children’s cognitive, social, and emotional growth
  • Create engaging lesson plans and activities that promote learning through play
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment where children feel comfortable to explore and learn
  • Guide children positively and constructively, promoting healthy social and emotional development.
Support Across the Daycare
  • Assist other classrooms as needed, providing additional support and ensuring consistency in care and education.
  • Collaborate with other educators to maintain a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Adapt to the varying needs of different classrooms, offering assistance and resources where necessary.
  • Assist in daily cleaning
Professional Conduct
  • Build and maintain healthy relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to support a collaborative working environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Education and Experience
  • Must have completed secondary school and Level 1 certification in Early Childhood Education.
  • At least two years of experience working with young children in a daycare or educational settings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to different classroom environments and needs.
  • Criminal record check
