HCOS Education Assistants are independent contractors who provide program support, behaviour and academic interventions, and encouragement to Home Learners within the Inclusive Education Department. Please see our Education Assistant Profile for more information.

The Position:
We are seeking  an Education Assistant  to work with students in the family home. This is a  part-time contract  position that may grow in hours over the course of the school year, depending on student needs and EA skill sets.

Location:

Aldergrove, BC

Grades:  3-6

Schedule:

8-15 hours per week (flexible during school hours)

As the Education Assistant your duties and responsibilities will include:

Supporting the social, spiritual, and academic learning needs of students, providing mentorship to the whole person

Differentiating learning based on student ability and learning styles

Collaborating with the Case Manager and the parent to support personalized learning opportunities

Assisting in carrying out IEP goals, working alongside the broader student support team

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

Background working in Education, EA Support, Behaviour Intervention, or with children/youth

Professionals with non-EA specific credentials are encouraged to also apply (e.g., psychology, behaviour analysis, social work, coaching, mathematics, etc.)

A valid Certified Educational Assistant certificate (or training in process) is considered an asset

Subject matter knowledge in the applicable grade levels or willingness to learn

What we offer:

Competitive Wage: $23.97 – $28.13 hourly depending on certification and experience
