Reporting to the Director, Capital Priorities & Business Services, you will provide strategic leadership and drive change by translating the business unit's strategy into operational excellence and managing the complexity of the City's infrastructure assets. You will oversee the corporate‑wide asset management strategy and planning functions and manage asset performance risk across various services. Primary duties include:
- Provide strategic oversight of the City's corporate asset management policy, strategy and practices.
- Sponsor the implementation and continual improvement of asset and risk management practices within each service line, in alignment to the City's asset management strategy and objectives.
- Report on City‑wide strategic infrastructure needs and risks that would result in service disruption or public safety and reputational risk to the Corporation.
- Influence City‑wide capital and operating investment strategies, including the establishment/adjustment of corporate budgets and reserves.
- Lead asset‑related activities during emergency responses and recovery operations related to infrastructure failures within an Incident Command Structure.
- Oversee the City's asset condition and performance assessment, monitoring and preventative maintenance/replacement capital programs.
- As a Responsible Member under APEGA, ensure legislative compliance for the professional engineering asset management practice within The City's Permit to Practice.
- Guide leaders in prioritizing work, ensuring performance standards are met, supporting succession planning for leadership and asset management roles, and fostering a healthy, safe, inclusive, and innovative workplace.
- A degree and at least 15 years of relevant senior level professional engineering experience obtained after receiving your P. Eng. designation and a current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta…
