Market Analyst Energy Regulator

Drive energy analysis at the Canada Energy Regulator as a Market Analyst. Engage in data modeling, analysis, and communication to inform energy outlooks and trends across Canada.

This role, reporting to the Director, Energy Outlooks, requires analytical skills in energy system modeling, data analysis, and stakeholder communication. You'll gather and analyze data, monitor energy market trends, and support the development of CER's Canada Energy Future publications. Collaborative teamwork is essential, with direction and coaching from seasoned staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support energy system modeling for long-term projections

• Gather and analyze diverse energy data sources

• Monitor energy supply and demand pricing trends

• Participate in stakeholder consultations and conferences

• Draft reports, notes, and presentations

Requirements:

• Degree in economics, engineering, or related field

• Experience in quantitative and qualitative energy analysis

• Familiarity with electricity and energy modeling techniques

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Willingness to travel and work overtime
