Why YOU want this position

At Enverus, we’re committed to empowering the global quality of life by helping our customers make energy affordable and accessible to the world.

We are the most trusted energy-dedicated SaaS company, with a platform built to maximize value from generative AI, and our innovative solutions are reshaping the way energy is consumed and managed. By offering anytime, anywhere access to analytics and insights, we’re helping our customers make better decisions that help provide communities around the world with clean, affordable energy.

The energy industry is changing fast. But we’ve continued to lead the way in energy technology, creating intelligent connections across the entire energy ecosystem, from renewables, power and utilities, to oil and gas and financial institutions. Our solutions create more efficient production and distribution, capital allocation, renewable energy development, investment and sourcing, and help reduce costs by automating crucial business operations.

Of course, this wouldn’t be possible without our people, which is why we have built a team of individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds.

Are you ready to help power the global quality of life? Join Enverus, and be a part of creating a brighter, more sustainable tomorrow.
The role
You’ll join the team that produces the definitive asset-level research on North American power generation and storage: renewables (wind and solar), thermal (gas, coal, nuclear), and energy storage. Our clients are institutional investors, IPP developers, hyperscalers, utilities, and corporate strategy teams making real capital decisions on the assets you cover. You won’t be one specialist in a deep stack; you’ll get exposure across the full asset stack and grow into the area you naturally take to.

This role reports to Scott Wilmot, who leads Power Assets.

This is an in-office role based at our Calgary headquarters with regular travel to the US for client meetings and conferences.A day on the team
  • Take a call from a developer trying to underwrite the IRA tax credit treatment of a solar project they’re acquiring.
  • Update your asset-level financial model after a 10-Q drops and write a short note on what changed.
  • Walk through a thermal retirement scenario with the rest of the Power Assets team and figure out what it means for the local capacity market.
  • Write a one-pager on a battery storage project hitting commercial operation in ERCOT.
  • Sit in on a client roadshow and start to understand how the M&A side actually thinks about an asset.
  • How we work
Most research shops give ownership of the hardest problems to the most senior person on the team; everyone below executes. We do the opposite. Every analyst, even at entry-level, owns their projects end-to-end and pulls in senior team members for guidance. That hands-on, problem-by-problem ownership is how you build the confidence and judgment to add real value to our clients, and it’s the single biggest reason people stay on this team.
    Who thrives on this team
  • Your intelligence is broad, not narrow. You aren’t the world’s expert on power flow analysis, but you’re smart enough to master it if put to the task. You’re more interested in solving the whole problem than being the deepest specialist on one piece of it.
  • You ask for help early. You’d rather make ten phone calls and look slightly less smart than struggle alone for two weeks.
  • You understand that excellent and on time outperforms perfect and late.
  • You’d rather write a tight one-pager than a 40-slide deck.
  • You take the work seriously, not yourself.
  • You seek to be a direct contributor to infrastructure development, bridging the gap between data analysis and real-world implementation.
  • What you’ll own
  • Asset-level research. Help analyze power generation and storage assets across renewables (wind, solar), thermal (gas, coal, nuclear), and energy storage. Contribute to written research that helps our clients make better investment and development decisions.
  • Financial & operational modelling. Build and maintain asset-level economic models using project filings, investor materials, ISO/RTO data, EIA, FERC, and other government and industry…
