Operations Centre Operator

Overview

• Monitor real-time performance of renewable fleet
• Investigate alarms and reset wind turbines and inverters
• Notify facility operators of trend or fault issues
• Coordinate planned and forced outages
• Document all operating events in accordance with BEROC procedures
• Support the development of standard and emergency operating procedures
• Operate and monitor SCADA systems and analytics tools
• Compile relay reports, equipment data, and historical data trend analysis
• Coordinate all control room activities
• Maintain individual development plan in collaboration with supervisor
• Promote a strong team culture

• Electrical/Mechanical or Engineering Technology diploma or degree
• Experience working in power generation, transmission, or distribution industry
• Knowledge of renewable power generation operations, functionality, and design
• Ability to read and interpret SLDs and other procedural manuals and schematics
• Technical knowledge in troubleshooting electrical and communications systems
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work a shift schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
• Certification or qualifications in work protection practices is an asset
