Compensation : $70.00 – $115.00 per hour.
Long‑term opportunity with professional development and career growth prospects. Periodic travel to Cold Lake and Bonnyville may be required.
Typical Day Design SAGD producer and injector well trajectories.
Prepare drilling programs, casing designs, and directional plans.
Support drilling operations through planning and real‑time execution.
Monitor KPIs including ROP, NPT, and cost per meter.
Lead post‑well reviews and implement lessons learned.
Develop AFE estimates and manage drilling costs versus budget.
Champion HSE compliance, risk management, and safe operations.
Troubleshoot operational issues and optimize drilling performance.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, or related discipline).
5+ years of drilling engineering experience in oil and gas operations.
Strong SAGD and/or heavy‑oil drilling experience.
Experience with pad drilling and multi‑well development programs.
Proven expertise in horizontal well design and execution.
Proficiency with Landmark, Well Plan, Compass, or equivalent software.
Strong knowledge of drilling fluids, hydraulics, torque & drag, and casing design.
Familiarity with AER regulations and SAGD‑specific drilling challenges.
