Energy Market Analyst at AESO

Join AESO as an Energy Market Analyst in Calgary, Alberta, for a 12-month fixed term. You'll support Alberta's electricity markets and grid reliability while working in a hybrid environment.

As part of the Reliability & Market Support team, the Energy Market Analyst plays a vital role in facilitating market access for customers and stakeholders. This dynamic position involves data analysis, customer support, and the administration of market systems while collaborating with AESO colleagues to tackle complex challenges in the energy market. The role also requires strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer market access systems and maintain participant records

• Provide training and technical support to energy market participants

• Manage contracts, agreements, and payments for system access

• Serve as the first point of contact for electricity market participants

• Identify and implement improvements in market support processes

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred

• 3-5 years of utilities industry experience

• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Knowledge of Alberta electricity market is an asset
