Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through a dual pipeline system of more than 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington state.

Trans Mountain also operates a state-of-the‑art loading facility, Westridge Marine Terminal, with three berths providing tidewater access to global markets.

As an Asset Integrity, Summer Student with Trans Mountain, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a progressive and fast‑paced group in the Asset Integrity team. The successful candidate will become familiar with regulatory compliance in pipeline and facility integrity and gain experience in a wide variety of integrity related areas. There will also be opportunities to observe in field activities such as in‑line inspection, facility inspections or geohazard ground inspections.

This position is based in the Calgary office and will report to the Senior Compliance Engineer.

Duration:
May 4, 2026 to August 21, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with addressing Corrective and Preventative Action plans assigned to the Asset Integrity Department resulting from recent Internal Audits.
  • Assist in updating Asset Integrity technical documents, procedures and standards and ensuring compliance to regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with engineering assessments and geohazard database updates.
  • Assist with creating work packages for anomaly digs.
  • Assist with the data collection and filing of annual performance indicator reports.
  • Assist in following the Management of Change process for document updates and proper communication for changes.
  • Assist Risk Engineers in the QA/QC of in‑line inspection tool data, field dig information, and other pipeline integrity data prior to loading into the risk database.
  • Assist the Facility Integrity team by reviewing/updating engineering drawings, procedures and standards to support Piping Circuitization for Facilities and Facility Tank Database Updates and improvements.
Qualifications and Professional

Experience:

  • Currently working towards a post‑secondary degree, in your 2nd or 3rd year of Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Petroleum or other Engineering.
  • Ability to take on tasks proactively.
  • Technical understanding of pipelines would be an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of software (ex., outlook/Word/Excel/SharePoint/Teams).
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Self‑motivated, capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail is critical.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle strict deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills; and
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Other Requirements and Information:
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited post‑secondary institution and return to full time studies in the Fall.

The expected pay range for this position is $26.69 to $36.31 CAD.
