Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair TRUMPF equipment with high quality.
  • Demonstrate and train customers in use and repair of TRUMPF machines in a complete and organized manner.
  • Travel up to 100%. Travel includes regional, national and international travel.
  • Complete basic retrofits, software installations and customer training.
  • Troubleshoot and remedy complex issues.
  • Work independently to resolve technical problems and maintain good relationship to customers.
  • Use relevant electrical measuring tools efficiently for troubleshooting.
  • Submit required weekly TRUMPF reports in a complete and organized manner.
  • Assist other Field Engineers as directed.
  • Participate in training lasting approximately 6 months with ongoing training on existing and new products each year.
  • Must be able to lift 70 pounds without aid.
Travel Requirements
  • Must be located, or able to relocate, within 45 minutes of a major International Airport.
  • 100% travel required, both internationally and domestically.
  • Perform extensive travel as needed, including but not limited to Monday through Friday.
  • Some weekend work as needed.
Experience and Education
  • Two-year technical school degree in Engineering principles or a suitable combination of education and work experience. Also, experience in computer software/file management is advantageous.
  • 2 or more years of experience in technical service, field service, repair or customer service required.
  • Strong electrical and computer systems experience and high level of diagnostic skills.
  • Previous experience with robotics, lasers, automation systems or mechatronics.
  • Previous experience with hand tools and measurement tools.
  • Must have strong problem-solving and excellent organization skills.
Location

Position is based in Canada - Prefer someone located in Alberta area (Edmonton or Calgary).
