Senior Electrical Designer

Currently, Tetranex is seeking a full-time Senior Electrical Designer.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and assist in the development of project design, drafting deliverables and project work packages.
• Project support with FEED deliverables including schedules, estimating and procurement support.
• Design and drafting of electrical drawings including, but not limited to: single line diagrams, low/medium voltage power schematics, electrical layouts, cable schedules, panel layouts, I/O schematics, wiring diagrams, etc.
• Support of team resources in the development of design calculations and studies including, but not limited to: equipment & cable sizing and selection, lighting, voltage drop, cable tray fill, etc.
• Quality assurance and support of project schedule input and progress tracking.
• Communication and coordination with department and project team members as required.
• Manage co-ordination with vendors and vendor documentation to a level required for project execution.
• Mentor junior resources to provide growth in understanding of key industry concepts relating to the Electrical discipline including constructability, schedule considerations, cost impact, change management and environmental considerations and impacts.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in design applications in support of energy sector projects.
• Degree or Diploma in Electrical Design from a recognized technical institute or comparable industry experience.
• Extensive experience in the use of industry standard software used for electrical design and engineering.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D modelling and Navis Works required.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical design calculations, including: EHT, lighting, tray fill, cable & protection sizing.
• Solid working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code.
• Bluebeam Revu experience required.
• Construction/fabrication experience an asset
• Smart Plant experience an asset
• Ability to work independently and in team environments.
• Strong work ethic as well as analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with others.
