Piping Engineer

Airswift is seeking a Piping Engineer to join one of our O&G clients on a 12–18‑month contract in Calgary, AB.

Responsible for engineering, analysis, and technical oversight of heavy industrial piping systems in O&G facilities. This includes above-ground supported piping and underground piping used for critical water-handling systems (e.g., produced water, injection water, cooling water, or utility systems).

• Develop engineering designs, specifications, and calculations for piping systems, ensuring alignment with project requirements, standards, and safety practices.
• Perform hydraulic and stress analysis for supported and buried piping systems.
• Interpret and apply codes such as ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, API standards, and project-specific engineering criteria.
• Review and approve piping design deliverables (isometrics, layouts, material specs) created by designers and modelers.
• Coordinate with process, civil, mechanical, and project engineering teams.
• Provide technical guidance during construction, including resolving field queries and supporting inspections or testing.
• Ensure all engineering deliverables incorporate safety, operability, and maintainability considerations.

• Degree in Mechanical, Piping, or related Engineering.
• Experience with heavy industrial piping projects (preferably O&G upstream).
• Knowledge of stress analysis tools (e.g., CAESAR II).
• Understanding of S3D or other 3D modeling platforms (user-level; not mandatory as primary operator).
• Strong knowledge of engineering codes and water-system piping.
