Land Representative

Calgary, Alberta

Monday – Friday

Provides fully qualified land rights expertise to support project execution and operational needs. Manages land scope for integrity programs, acquisition initiatives, and development projects, either in-house or in coordination with third‑party land service providers. Identifies land requirements, evaluates potential risks, and facilitates resolution of complex or precedent‑setting land issues. Supports public awareness initiatives and ensures accurate, compliant land records.

• Identify land requirements and assess potential risks or constraints for integrity, acquisition, and development projects.
• Provide facilitation and guidance on complex land issues, claims, negotiations, and stakeholder interactions.
• Support and implement the annual integrated public awareness program.
• Direct and/or advise contract land agents, appraisal specialists, consulting foresters, surveyors, and contractors involved in property and ownership matters.
• Ensure land database information is current, accurate, and aligned with project and regulatory requirements.
• Manage land-related components of project planning, execution, and stakeholder engagement.
• Evaluate unique or precedent‑setting land matters and recommend appropriate strategies or resolutions.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure land activities align with corporate standards, regulatory obligations, and project schedules.

• Ensures compliance with applicable land regulations, codes, and industry best practices.
• Provides professional land expertise to support project planning, risk management, and decision‑making.
• Contributes to stakeholder engagement, claims management, and negotiation strategies.
• Enhances land program efficiency through process improvements and accurate data management.
• Influences internal and external stakeholders on land‑related decisions with minimal oversight.

• Relevant post‑secondary education in land administration, real estate, or a related discipline.
• Several years of experience managing land scope for projects, either in‑house or with a land broker.
• Strong understanding of land acquisition processes, regulatory requirements, and property rights.
• Proven ability to manage negotiations, resolve complex land issues, and work with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience directing or coordinating contract land service providers.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship‑building skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate land records and documentation.

• Primarily office‑based with periodic travel to project or field locations.
• Occasional work outside regular business hours may be required based on project needs.
