Permitting and Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Técnicas Reunidas Canada E&C is part of the Técnicas Reunidas Group, a global leader in engineering, procurement and construction services for energy and large scale industrial projects is seeking a Permitting and Regulatory Specialist to join our Calgary-based team. This position will play a key role in coordinating regulatory efforts and ensuring successful navigation of permitting requirements for complex engineering projects in Alberta and British Columbia.

What You'll Do
- Coordinate all regulatory and permitting activities throughout the engineering phase of oil & gas, petrochemical, and power generation projects.
- Prepare and submit applications for permits and licenses for upstream, downstream, and pipeline projects.
- Develop comprehensive permitting roadmaps tailored to Canadian regulations.
- Provide expert advice on regulatory and environmental practices to internal teams and clients.
- Interface with regulatory agencies, maintaining professional communication and compliance.
- Develop and manage databases of regulatory frameworks for corporate and project use.
- Support inspections and audits by compiling technical documentation and assessments.
- Interpret and apply relevant policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Support the development of environmental assessments and industrial approval applications.

What You Bring
- A minimum of 7–10 years of experience in regulatory and permitting roles, ideally in large-scale oil & gas, energy and power generation industrial projects.
- Direct permitting experience during the engineering phases of major capital projects.
- Proven background working with international companies and regulatory agencies across Alberta and British Columbia.
- Post-secondary degree (college or university) in engineering, environmental science, or related field.
- Strong understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and general arrangements (GAs).
- Knowledge of Canadian regulatory frameworks; BC-specific certifications are an asset.
